Garage time

Driveline parts to install:

  • T50 TRD gear set OR W58 Supra gearbox
  • TRD 4.55 final drive
  • Larger rear brake rotors


Normally aspirated induction:

  • RWD factory inlet manifold w/o TVIS plate
  • TRD injectors

Rebuilt ported cylinder head with:

  • TODA 304 high lift camshafts
  • TODA valve springs

Rebuilt bottom end with:

  • Carillo high compression pistons
  • Late model water pump (modified)
  • Manon racing products baffled sump
  • ARP head studs
  • ARP rod bolts

After trouble firing the fuel pump, I removed he wring loom, checked it all and added the required wires for the water methanol injection kit.
While I was at it I checked everything out and tifdied things up.
The loom is now returned to its rightful place.

Dyno Time

Spent some time on the dyno at Autotech during the week.
After ironing out a couple of bugs, we got to the tuning.
Made a massive 12rwkW at about 3000rpm before we pulled the pin with air intake temps in excess of 100 degrees C, a problem I had expected.
Now going to water/methanol injection for charge cooling.

  • 7 rib block, but without oil squirters
  • 16 valve big port head
  • Balanced stainless steel crank
  • Low compression pistons from supercharged 4AGZEs
  • 375cc injectors from 4AGZEs
  • HKS 2mm metal head gasket for compression ratio 8.0:1
  • HKS adjustable cam gears
  • HKS 272 intake & exhaust camshafts
  • HKS supercharger kit
  • Techno Toy Tuning 145mm diameter crank pulley for approximately 15psi boost
  • HKS extractors

Custom exhaust just built by Powatone at Fyshwick, ACT.
Terrific looking job - 2.5 inch mandrel bent through a hotdog muffler, then 2 1/4 over the diff.
Great looking exhaust, but a terrible photo.
